Help save the bees!

A blog following the beekeepers at the University of Washington.

Events + Activities

Puget Sound Beekeepers Association Monthly Meeting
Fourth Tuesday of each month, 18:30-21:00
The topics for the main presentation are always interesting and useful. Every meeting is proceeded by a beginner's session on basics, which is very informative. This is a great way to meet other beekeepers, exchange tips and ask questions. There's lots to learn!

Washington State Master Beekeeper Program
Administered locally by PSBA, this is the most official certification program in the USA. It is our state version of the National program.
There are 3 levels of certification:
1) Apprentice
2) Journeyman
3) Master

Pollination Research Volunteers Needed!
Delve into pollination studies and urban agriculture.

The recently organized Pollination Interest Group at UW is conducting an Urban Pollinator Assessment Project (UPP) and they need help. You can read about the project at the website: http://nwpollination.org/

You would be working with energetic and fun-loving grad students in P-patch gardens counting flowers and bees and perhaps other tasks. Very high learning potential, make many contacts.

The most urgent need at the moment is for bee-watchers, so you could increase your bee knowledge by coming to a training event in mid-June.
